Galactic Explorers - Epitaph For Venus (1996)

Epitaph For Venus was allegedly recorded back in 1972, and is an enigmatic entry in the world of early German electronic music. Deeply rooted in the kosmische tradition, the album unfolds as a sprawling soundscape of analog synths, ambient textures, and minimalist improvisation. Little is known about the musicians that made up Galactic Explorers and there is some that say this is another suspected fake band released by the Pyramid label, similar to Golem. However, the album’s  hypnotic, otherworldly atmosphere places it firmly within the same experimental feel of early ’70s krautrock and electronic avant-garde. Questions of whether this band ever existed aside from, this album is simply amazing.

2017 Spanish pressing from Metal Experience/Pyrimid and it’s a great copy.
