Jane - Between Heaven And Hell (1977)

Between Heaven And Hell features four tracks, with the title piece occupying the entire first side, spanning nearly 20 minutes. This composition blends atmospheric passages with dynamic instrumental sections, incorporating a choir and Latin lyrics, creating a dark and mystical ambiance. The second side comprises “Twilight,” “Voice in the Wind,” and “Your Circle,” each showcasing the band’s ability to merge melodic themes with progressive arrangements. Notably, “Voice in the Wind” concludes with a church organ recorded at the nearby St. Bartholomew Church in Wilster, adding a unique sonic texture. It’s an unusual and beautiful album and certainly a standout German prog release for 1977. Great fuckin’ shit!

1977 German pressing on Brain and it sounds great.
