Ten Kai, also known as Astral Voyage, is the debut studio album by Japanese musician Kitaro. This instrumental album blends electronic and acoustic elements, creating ethereal soundscapes that are engaging and meditative… very chill music. While most people know of Kitaro for his new age musical works, he was previously in a fantastic psychedelic/electronic progressive rock act called Far East Family Band, and his first few solo releases lean more on that direction than the new age vibes of his later work. Really nice tunes for taking it easy on a Sunday afternoon, just sayin’.
1978 German pressing on a label called Wergo. Picked this up at A-1 Records in NYC a few years back and it sounds phenomenal. Cover is great too.
