Beyond The Gates is the second album by death/thrash trailblazers Possessed and like Slayer’s Reign In Blood, it demonstrates the band’s alignment with the burgeoning thrash metal movement, when they (or Slayer) could have claimed the death metal tag at the time. It’s the riffs… those thrash metal riffs! Great album and seriously crucial mid-80s metal.
1986 US first pressing from Combat Records and it rips. Fantastic triptych foldout sleeve cannot be beat.
