Mob Rules is Sabbath’s second album with Ronnie James Dio on vocals and continues the momentum they built with Heaven And Hell. The album delivers a heavier, darker tone, with Tony Iommi’s crushing riffs and Vinnie Appice’s thunderous drumming driving the sound forward. A bit more pummeling than Heaven And Hell, but the band knows exactly what they are doing here. Exceptional album, all the way.
1981 US pressing on Warner Bros. Records and like my copy of Heaven And Hell, it seems almost brand new.
