Live! At Sheffield 1974 is (obviously) an archival release of Gong live from ‘74… one of a few that have recently been reissued as part of the whole RSD thing. This 2xLP set sounds fantastic and documents the band at peak live tightness and energy. Goofy, psychedelic, heavy hitting, technically challenging playing, and tight as fight. Gong, in a nutshell.
2020 US/EU RSD reissue from Mantra/Culture Factory USA, Inc. it’s a lovely release and sounds fantastic. My only complaint is that the OBI strip is stuck to the cover with a clear stick on the front and back, so I don’t feel great about removing it in fear of damaging the cover.
