Silk Road is a collection containing both volumes of Kitaro’s acclaimed soundtrack series for the NHK documentary of the same name, tracing the ancient trade route that connected East and West. The album blends traditional Asian instrumentation with lush synthesizer textures, creating expansive soundscapes that evoke vast deserts, sacred temples, and distant horizons. While this could be considered Kitaro’s first true entry into the vibes of New Age music, I cannot deny that this is some beautiful sounds here to ease a troubled soul. What I need right now, it seems.
1981 German pressing on Kuckuck. The cover has seen better days, but the LPs are perfectly clean.
