Tone Float is the sole album by the German band Organisation, a precursor to Kraftwerk featuring Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider. Produced by Conny Plank, the album diverges from Kraftwerk’s later electronic style, embracing a cool blend of krautrock, avant-garde, and psychedelic influences. The album apparently didn’t do well and Hütter and Schneider formed Kraftwerk in the wake of Organisation’s demise. Still, Tone Float is quite good and worth checking out for its own qualities, Kraftwerk connections or not.
2024 UK/EU unofficial reissue from a label called Life Goes On Records and it sounds pretty damn good.
