Peter Green - The End Of The Game (1970)

The End Of The Game is Peter Green’s debut solo album following his split with Fleetwood Mac. What’s fascinating about this album for me is how quickly Green jumped into adventurous psychedelic and improvisational directions after being so well renowned for his blues rock stylings. While it gets hammered a little by critics for its lack of clear direction, I love the loose vibes and it’s generally free flowing feel. Beautiful little record and superbly recorded by none other than Martin Birch. Amazing.

1970 US pressing on Warner Bros. Records. An old friend of mine let me borrow his copy of this in about the year 2001 and I ripped it to a CDr which I’ve had ever since… only just finding my own LP copy this past Sunday and I am absolutely chuffed about it!
