Offering Part 1 & Part 2 sees Christian Vander diving headfirst into spiritual jazz and vocal improvisation, untethered from the dense mythology of Magma but still carried by his signature intensity. The double album is more meditative than apocalyptic, channeling the spirit of Coltrane through rich piano-driven pieces and wordless choral ecstasy. This album is unique, to say the least, and not for everyone. I love it, but it’d probably be a great record to put on if you are trying to get party guests to clear out, haha.
1986 German pressing on Jaro/Seventh Records and it’s in great shape. Found this a few years back at a local shop for $15 and think I did alright.
