Wiseblood finds Corrosion Of Conformity leaning fully into their own brand of Southern-fried Sabbath worship, with a sludgy, deep grooves mix of metal and heavy rock. A really nice follow up to path they set out on with Deliverance in ‘94. Worth noting that James Hetfield contributed guest vocals on “Man or Ash”, uncredited, of course, haha. I like Deliverance just a bit more than this one, but it’s solid and not sure they’ve released anything this good since.
2022 European reissue from Music On Vinyl/Columbia. A gatefold cover for this double LP would have been nice, but the records sound fantastic, so no complaints.
