Following his split with Carcass, Mike Amott kicked off the Spiritual Beggars to explore his passion for 1970s heavy rock and proto metal stoner goodness. This album, the original debut, is great and an overlooked album of heavy stoner rock of the 1990s. However, this triple-LP reissue from Svart Records is loaded with previously unreleased demo cuts from the band’s inception though their restructuring after original frontman Spice’s departure.in 2001. The debut is fantastic, but the the two full LP of high quality rarities is a slam dunk for me here.
2022 Finnish reissue from Svart Records and it’s fantastic. Landed this for $25 at Amoeba Musin in San Francisco about a month ago and finally giving it a thorough spin.
