Deggial represents a significant evolution in Therion’s symphonic metal evolution. Departing from the synthesizer-based orchestration of previous works, this album features authentic classical instruments, including a full choir and orchestra, recorded at Woodhouse Studio in Germany . The resulting album is rich and layered and still smokes. Not sure if this is is a guilty pleasure of mine or what, but I love me some mid-period Therion.
2022 Austrian reissue from Napalm Records and it’s really nice.
