45 Grave - Phantoms (1983)

Phantoms is a wild ride through deathrock, surf-punk, and horror theatrics courtesy of L.A.’s 45 Grave. Bridging the gap between punk’s immediacy and goth’s gloom, the album sounds like a B-movie come to life—complete with reverb-drenched riffs, ghoulish wails, and a heavy dose of black humor. Unique and cool little EP.

1983 US pressing on Enigma. I landed this back in the early 1990s as part of a small punk rock collection a friend and I purchased through the classified section of Microsoft’s old physical paper newsletter called Micronews, hah. Incan still remember when we divvied up the records and neither of us really knew this one, so I took it.
