Violence & Force sharpened Exciter’s attack without losing the manic urgency of their debut. The production is tighter, giving John Ricci’s slicing guitar tone more bite, and Dan Beehler’s shrieking vocals somehow sound even more unhinged. It’s an album that bridges the raw speed of early ’80s metal with the aggression that would eventually define thrash. Essential listening if you are into thrash metal at all.
1984 US pressing on Megaforce Records and this pressing is where it’s at.
