1984 by Praxis is a raw, atmospheric detour from the band’s more beat-driven material, leaning heavily into noise, ambient sludge, and dystopian collage. Recorded by Bill Laswell before Praxis was fully realized as a group—it plays more like a paranoid fever dream than a structured album. Sample-heavy interludes, analog synth drones, and decaying guitar textures suggest early industrial music being melted down and reassembled into something more alien. Some oddball shit going on with this EP!
Original 1984 US/Canada pressing on a label called Celluloid. Recently picked this up and giving it a first spin as I write.
