Realm - Endless War (1988)

Endless War is a razor-sharp slice of technical thrash from Milwaukee’s Realm, packed with insane riff changes, clean high-pitched vocals, and a tightly wound sense of melody. The band blended the aggression of Bay Area thrash with a level of musicianship closer to prog metal—think early Watchtower or Toxik, but with more hooks. While the album didn’t get gain a lot of momentum at the time of its original release, it’s become a bit of an underground classic. Their second (and final) album Suiciety is also great, but I do not yet own a physical copy of that one. Very cool band.

2023 European reissue from Music On Vinyl/Roadrunner Records.
