Talas - Live Speed On Ice (1984)

Live Speed On Ice captures Talas tearing it up onstage with speed, attitude, and unfiltered charisma. Recorded in their hometown of Buffalo, the album is a high-octane run through of tight, riff-driven songs delivered with focused precision and arena-rock flair. Billy Sheehan’s bass way up front in the mix, pulling lead-guitar-level stunts while still anchoring the sound, and the crowd energy bleeds right through the tape. I literally just got this, but initial impressions are that this little record smokes.

1984 US pressing on Combat Records. I remember seeing this album featured as part of a Combat Records roster commercial clip at the end of the 1985 Ultimate Revenge VHS tape featuring Venom, Slayer, and Exodus, and I recall not knowing who Talas, or most of the bands featured in that short clip even were at the time, haha.
