Sink Your Teeth Into That is a scrappy, energetic slab of hard rock from Talas, the Buffalo-based band best remembered as Billy Sheehan’s pre-David Lee Roth launching pad. The album captures a lean, energetic trio in full bar-band style glory—heavy riffs, punchy hooks, and a DIY attitude that leans into glam and NWOBHM influences. Sheehan’s playing is already borderline absurd, throwing in harmonics and tapped flurries beneath tracks that otherwise ride classic party-metal grooves. Not sure what Inwould have made of these fellas back when I was a teenager, but at my age this is some good time jams every now and then.
1982 UK pressing on Food For Thought Records. I actually picked this up in Reading, England a few years ago for just a few pounds and it plays great.
