Memento Collider is Virus at their most fluid and hypnotic—six tracks of gliding dissonance, angular grooves, and eerie restraint. Compared to earlier records, this one feels colder and more methodical, like the band’s surreal rock has been submerged in formaldehyde. Czral’s vocals slither through the mix with cryptic detachment, while the rhythm section locks into unsettling cycles that feel both mechanical and alive. It’s less aggressive than The Black Flux, but far more paranoid, like a fever dream narrated by a malfunctioning philosopher or something equally whack.
2016 Norwegian pressing on Karisma Records. So good.
