Fire In The Sky is of course a bootleg and was initially released in Japan under the title “Discovery Of Madness” and has been been reissued a number around the world under the “Fire In The Sky” title. The source material here is a soundboard recording of Black Sabbath live at Montreaux Casino, Montreaux, Switzerland on August 31, 1970. At the start of the set, the mix is still a work in progress and Ozzy is really loud in the mix, but once you get a couple songs in, things settle into a pretty nice sounding recording. The band is on fire and some of the songs are a bit different from the way they are on the albums. “Behind The Wall Of Sleep” includes an entire sped up jam section I hadn’t heard anywhere else. Awesome bootleg and a great live document.
2015 European bootleg pressing, not credited to any label. Link goes to a different version of this, but seemingly sourced from the same tapes.
