Deliver Us From Evil marks a significant modernization of Budgie’s sound from a gritty 1970s heavy rock (oddball) juggernaut to a sound that is shiny and polished in that 1980s style. It’s not bad really, it’s just a shift for the band who were one of the more prolific and influential drivers of the early proto-metal sound. Still, if you’re already a fan of Budgie, checking out this LP is a no brainer as it’s all pretty good.
1982 Netherlands pressing on RCA/Active Records and its mint. Only recently came across this at a local shop and I am super happy with the unusual luck I’ve had landing Budgie LP in the wild.
