While Japan’s Church Of Misery have a ton of singles and split releases, The Second Coming is actually their second album and it’s loaded with untold tales of depravity, abuse, and murder. While this kind of thing isn’t the type of themes I typically seek out, Church Of Misery deliver some most excellent stoner/doom heavy rock that cannot be denied. A killer album, pun intended and appropriate.
2011 UK reissue on Rise Above Records that adds four bonus cuts, including cover versions of May Blitz and Captain Beyond tunes. So damn cool.
