Doomsday For The Deceiver is the debut album from Arizona thrashers Flotsam And Jetsam and their only album with future Metallica bassist Jason Newsted. In addition to some great plying here Newsted contributed heavily to the wringing on this LP and I have to say, it’s generally solid as fuck. The band are balls tight and seriously not shy about burning it all down… not hard to imagine that the excellence of the record helped Newsted land the coveted Metallica gig… if only they let him write more.
1986 US pressing on Metal Blade Records/Restless Records. I lucked across this real nice copy at a local record show some years back and I’m still pretty damn happy about it, hah.
