Awakening finds Hexenhaus further developing their technical thrash chops but this time around have also incorporated a good bit of traditional doom metal sounds (ala 80s Candlemass) and while I’m not sure if that helped them much at the time, it’s a striking and unique clash that somehow works in this particular instance. The band would soon split after this only got most of the lineup going over to Memento Mori with former Candlemass frontman Messiah Marcoln. Love all this shit.
2025 European reissue from Rock Of Angels Records and all of these recent Hexenhaus vinyl reissues sound phenomenal.
