King’s Road is an EG Records retrospective of John Wetton music recorded solo and with different groups while with the label. I am a massive fan of Wetton’s work with King Crimson, U.K., and even his short run with Uriah Heep (not featured here), but his solo material seems to be mostly accessible radio friendly type stuff and my take is that is what this release is meant to highlight. Still… Wetton is a bass legend in my book and I can appreciate nearly everything this man has done. Maybe not the greatest representation of his musical contributions in the 1970s, but all good.
1987 US pressing on EG Records. Unexpectedly, I am unable to find a link to this comp, so… coming soon? WTF?
