Well, I bought this at the same time as the Leprous LP the other day and they are certainly from the same person‘s collection before they ended up in the vinyl garage bins. Aside from a vague familiarity with the bands’s name and the cool cover, I don’t know shit about Caligula’s Horse. Initial take is that I like this less than the Leprous LP. Some painful Tool worship and cheese for days with the verse, chorus, verse song structures and it’s killing me. Going to get through this album, but a miracle is going to have to happen for me to dig on this thing.
Update: I have concluded that I dislike this record. It’s a lovely presentation and the production is slick as fuck, but this kind of music makes me want to jump off a cliff.
