The classic 1980s lineup of Candlemass reformed around 2001 or so and along with a 2002 live album, the band unleashed their amazing self titled opus on the world. Classic fucking doom metal, yet heavier than ever. One of my favorite Candlemass albums and Messiah Marcoln delivers an unparalleled performance here. Sad that he did not stay with the band past this cycle.
2019 UK reissue from Back On Black and it’s pretty sweet.
