Blessed Is The Black is the debut album from Seattle thrashers Coven. Some great riffage on this record and solid playing all around. Vocalist Jay Clark may not hit the insanity level of Paul Baloff on Bonded By Blood, but his delivery is absolutely deranged. Some fantastic obscure thrash metal if that’s your jam. “Iron Dick” is a lost thrash classic, hah! The album even features a guest solo by Forced Entry guitarist Brad Hull.
1988 US reissue on Ever Rat Records/Medusa Records. This album was initially released on cassette only in 1986, then on vinyl in 1987 through Ever Rat Records.
