Extraterrestrial Live is a 2xLP release recorded across a few different shows in the early 80s and highlights the band’s previous two albums well, but also hits some serious classics and a few tracks that haven’t really been highlighted on a live release to this point. The production is a little loose, but it hardly takes away from the listening experience and the band is tight as fuck. New drummer Rick Downey plays drums on most of this album and he sounds great, but the couple of tunes with Albert Bouchard highlight his badass playing as well. Robby Krieger makes a guest live appears for a roaring cover of The Doors’ “Roadhouse Blies”. Artwork by Greg Scott is again on point! Like… what’s not to love here?!
1982 US pressing on Columbia. Yes!
