Blue Öyster Cult - The Revölution By Night (1983)

The Revolution By Night marks some changes in the world of BÖC. Most notably, the band has parted ways with original drummer Albert Bouchard, the first ever lineup change since the band started releasing albums. Also, they changed their production team again and have sonically moved away from their heavy rock, almost metal sound of their last two albums and are leaning into a bit of a weird heavy pop rock sound? Can I describe it that way?! Either way, I’ve come to believe this album is also excellent, though it took me a little to get my head around it. I love the cover on this one as well! So good!

1983 US pressing on Columbia. I’ve had very good luck with Blue Öyster Cult LP pickups over the years and they are generally not hard to find anyway.
