It appeared that Candlemass was on the verge of retirement before they somehow managed to join forces with Johan Lanquist some 32 years after he provided lead vocals for the bands iconic and sub-genre defining debut album. His presence on The Door To Doom is large and effective and I’m digging this album a shit ton! Also worth noting that none other than Tony Iommi laid down the guitar solo for “Astrolus - The Great Octopus”. Epic.
