Edge Of Sanity’s 1996 album Crimson is a progressive metal epic masterwork. Primarily driven by mastermind Dan Swanö, the album is a conceptual piece spanning 40 minutes as a single track with multiple movements and it’s absolutely beautiful. Along with Opeth, these guys were pushing into some fantastic melodies, progressive death metal territory. Crimson is a massive artistic achievement and quite accessible to boot. So good!
2025 European reissue on Century Media and it sounds phenomenal. All of these 2025 remasters were done by Dan Swanö himself and all is better for it.
