The Erosion Of Sanity is the second album from space/time bending Quebec metallers Gorguts and it’s absolutely crushing. I literally just picked this up while on a work trip in Chicago and it’s only the second Gorguts LP I own to date, but I think I’m developing a straight up obsession with this band even though I’ve been familiar with them forever. Something has recently clicked and I need more, haha! This record is brilliant, dissonant, progressive death metal before that was hardly even a thing to discuss. And of course they are from Quebec, because that province produces some of the best and most cerebral metal I’ve ever laid my ears upon.
2024 European reissue on Listenable Records and it’s no joke.
