Napalm Death - From Enslavement To Obliteration (1988)

From Enslavement To Obliteration is the second album by Napalm Death and while the first album was groundbreaking as fuck, this album is much more cohesive, yet still as visceral as the first. Love the chaotic nature of this shit when I’m in the mood.  Lee Dorrian’s completely unhinged vocals on this album are worth the purchase price alone, but the entire band nuts. This marks the band’s first album with bassist Shane Embury who is the sole remaining member of this lineup in the band today. Lee Dorian and guitarist Bill Steer would soon depart with Dorrian forming doom legends Cathedral and Steer forming death metal legends Carcass. Drummer Mick Harris would stick around for one more album, but he eventually takes a very different musical path. Lots of very interesting folks have been a part of Napalm Death.

2017 European reissue from Earache. Found this at Signal Records in Chicago earlier this week and it’s fantastic.
