Chaos A.D. marked a bit of a shift in Sepultura’s sound, but at its core, it just seems like natural evolution by the band considering the state of heavy metal in the 1990s. There is an increased focus on heaviness, mid-tempo tracks, and a bit of oddball variation. The album sometimes gets shit for being too “groove metal” or whatever, nut people need to lighten up. I dig it.
2017 US expanded reissue on Roadrunner Records and it’s really nice.
