Stardrive - Intergalactic Trot (1973)

Intergalactic Trot is the first of only two albums ever released by Robert Mason’s Stardrive project, which is crafted around his own custom build synthesizer setup, which is also called the Stardrive. Mason leveraged sessions musicians to help him fill out the band for this album and the result is a pretty cool album, if not a bit syrupy at times… see the rendition of the Beatles’ “Strawberry Fields”, hah. Otherwise, the album sort of jams in a science fiction space/funk kind of way.

1973 US pressing on Elektra. Fount this for $5 at Signal Records in Chicago and it’s awesome.
