I don’t have much stuff by the Ventures, but the more I listen to them the more I dig ‘em. Just love the laid back surf vibes and jams. Underground Fire finds the band referencing music from the counter culture scene of the latest 1960s and even dedicates the second side of the LP to covers from bands like the Doors, Janis Joplin, Arthur Brown, Steppenwolf, Cream, and Robbie Robertson. Nothing serious, but it a cool little record.
1969 US pressing on Liberty Records. Just got this for like $5 and it’s a bit traveled, but plays great after.a cleaning.
