Abdullah was a pretty great doom metal band out of Cleveland, Ohio that released just a pair of studio albums and a number of demos and splits in their 1998-2009 run. While I’ve been familiar with these cats for ages, this is the first physical release I’ve managed to land and it has me thinking I need to put more work into it as this album is crushing. Heavy doom with sort of melodic vocal parts and thoughtful arrangements. Fantastic tunes, honestly!
2000 German pressing on the label “I Used To Fuck People Like You In Prison” Records, haha. Came across this at a shop in Ottawa recently and couldn’t pass it up. Been stumbling across more late 1990s and early 2000s stoner/doom LPs lately and all about picking these great releases up as the general public seemingly appears to forget how good this shit is.
