Brainticket - Adventure (1980)

After a seven year gap in releases, Joel Vandroogenbroeck pulls together a fascinating ambient, experimental, or if you will, experiential album that is made of two side long tracks, “Adventure Part One” and “Adventure Part Two”. Recorded in 1979, it fits in with much of mid to late 70s krautrock scene but with a more analog feel and longer formats whereas most of the primary krautrock artists of the time were leaning into shorter compositions and digital production aesthetics. Brainticket has always been its own planet anyway, so the differences make sense. Not sure I’d offer this as a general recommendation unless you’ve got a penchant for experimental music (as I do).

2020 US reissue on Cleopatra and while not a fancy pressing, it sounds quite good.
