While I frequent in high culture art and esoteric aesthetics in music, I am ultimately a low culture metalhead and will always remain close to the idea of burning it all fucking down. Razor pretty much encapsulates that vibe and I’ll always be a giant fan of Dave Carlo’s riffage and the band’s enduring “fuck you” spirit. 1997 was a shit year for metal, but this album is alright. Pretty sure Decibels got zero traction at the time, but it’s alright. There still a bit of 1990s metal confusion going on here, but overall this album still kicks poseurs in the nuts.
2011 German reissue on High Roller Records and I’d bet the HRR versions of this LP are the best that exist. Cover variant is different from the original but it’s not like the original was that good (see below).
