This is of course Steppenwolf’s second album, released a mere months following the band’s debut. I’ve long believed that Steppenwolf is a band that’s so well known for their handful of hits that most of their material, entire albums in fact, get overlooked because of this. Of course The Second contains “Magic Carpet Ride”, which is a huge hit, but the rest of the album is quite good as well.
1968 US pressing on ABC Records/Dunhill and it sounds pretty good for all the living this copy has experienced.
