Arzachel was a bit of a reformation group that used to be called Uriel, but changed their name to Egg after Steve Hillage left the band. When Egg was signed, they took advantage of an option on their contract to release an album under a different name so they brought back Hillage and released this awesome record under the Azrachel moniker. Very much a 1969 psychedelic album, but it’s notably excellent.
Edit: I’m a massive Hillage fan and he’s absolutely smoking on this record.
2019 unofficial European reissue on the Ethelion label with three original Uriel tracks as a bonus. Not sure how it’s determined why some Ethelion releases are official or unofficial, but it sounds pretty damn good.
