Cyclopean was a brief project featuring Irmin Schmidt and Jaki Liebzeit from prog legends Can with Jono Podmore and Burnt Friedman rounding out the lineup. This self titled EP turned out to be the band’s only release and it’s a fantastic little set of progressive electronic music with much more modern aesthetics than classic cam, but still in the spirit of the sound that Schmidt and Liebzeit trail blazed back in the 1970s. Very cool little release and the very last thing Schmidt and Liebzeit released together before Liebzeit’s passing in 2017.
2013 UK/EU original (only) pressing on Mute/Spoon Records. This was primarily released digitally, except this one 2013 vinyl pressing and I just found it sealed for $11 at Amoeba Music in Berkeley, California after having never ever seen a copy of this for sale since it came out.
