Fading Beauty is the debut album from German prog act Faithful Breath and, for the sake of understanding this band, it was released six years prior to the band’s follow-up. This album is very much symphonic progressive rock on the heavier side of things, but I would not call this proto-metal, which is only notable since the band embraced heavy metal full on in the 1980s. All that shit aside, this is an epic prog album with three movements. It’s sort of spacey, intricate, and well crafted. Absolutely worth checking out if you are able.
2017 unofficial German reissue credited to a label called Amber Soundroom. While I generally aim to get official reissues, this is not always practical or affordable, so I get what I can when I’m on the road sometimes. This particular pressing sounds fantastic. No regerts.
