I picked up this copy of Octagon back in September and apparently forgot that I bought it. First spin right now and beginning to understand why this album gets very little love from Metal-Archives. The 1990s were a tough time to be a metal artist as traditional styles were out of fashion and all else was kind of confusing for a lot of artists. Not sure what Quarthon is going for here… post-thrash metal, semi-industrial tones? Unsure. It’s an interesting recording, but it’s certainly a head-scratcher. Not my favorite Bathory LP, but I’m alright with it.
