Steig Aus was my introduction to krautrock masters Embryo and this album remains not only my favorite Embryo album; but one of my favorites of the 1970s. An absolute masterwork of psychedelic, jazz, fusion, progressive, world music, and all in the best possible mix one could imagine. A true masterpiece, end to end!
2009 German reissue from Brain and it’s a glorious fucking reissue: One off story with this LP… I came across this exact copy in September of 2021 while poking around shops in Brooklyn, NY. I remember seeing this on the wall for $65 and talked with the clerk about the record, but decided I was tapped out and only bought a copy of Deep Purple’s Mk I & II complication for like six bucks. Anyway, after I got back I looked up this record on Discogs and the only US based copy was the one from the same shop I was in. I sat on this shot forever, then on December of 2023, I finally relented and bought this exact copy through Discogs for the same shop price plus shipping and was pissed at myself for the lag. Then the record arrived and all is good. Such a fantastic fucking record!
