If anyone one had told me back in the 1980s that I’d be enjoying old Whitesnake records in 2025, I would have told them to fuck off. No way I my opinionated ass would have seen that coming. However, like everything else with music in my life, I’m eventually proven wrong and that’s a good thing. This 1980 2xLP live album absolutely smokes! Early Whitesnake had that killer heavy blues rock thing going on, not to mention that half of the lineup on this LP are Deep Purple legends. Coverdale sounds fucking great and I rescind any and all uninformed comments I ever made of the guy as a 1980s thrash metal teen. Top shelf singer and frontman, and seemingly a cool guy in real life, what’s not to love. This album was produced by the Martin Birch (the master), so of course the sound is excellent.
1980 German pressing on Liberty/EMI Electrola and it sounds amazing!
