Violent Pacification was a 7-inch following the release of the band’s Dirty Rotten EP/LP. It’s really brief and not a major shift from the their debut, but the production is a tad better and well, if fucking shreds. The title track alone, clocking in at 2:54, is a six minute song at twice the speed. So fucking good and a fitting first post for 2026.
2020 US reissue on Beer City Records. While this was included as part of the 1988 reissue that I have on CD, I’ve always wanted a copy of the 7-inch to blast on the hi-fi. It’s a nice release on all points!
Got to see DRI in July of 1986. Insane show!
