Richard Pinhas - Iceland (1979)

Iceland is much more of an ambient electronic album that what Pinhas had been doing previously, either solo or with Heldon. As the title and cover would indicate, these are sounds of cold and isolation, yet not in a negative sense.  Think more introspective, contemplative, quiet…  Pinhas’ output from the early 1970s into the early 80s is insanely impressive. Brilliant artist.

2018 US reissue from Superior Viaduct that comes with a second LP that contains the 25 minute track “Wintermusic as a bonus and it’s a perfect accompaniment to the original album. The sound and presentation on this one is top notch.
